UK's First Step in Taking Over City

One of our astute readers brought this to our attention last month, and now it's official.

First the sidewalks in front of UK buildings, then what? Neighboring buildings? Roadways What's next?

You can be sure it will not be a pay raise for faculty and staff. Thousands of dollars will be spent on no tobacco signs and litigation.

Is UK taking over public sidewalks a joke or is this the best our top University can do?

Good for UK. The criticism of this move by UK is laughable and not surprising given the stupid smokers who populate Kentucky. You think UK is out of line? What don't you do a google search on "sidewalk smoking ban." This has been considered numerous cities and hospitals including Yale. No doubt smokers were crying about those as well. Then again, it's just common sense that patients and family members shouldn't have to endure tobacco smoke when visiting a hospital.
