Too many people complaining about naming a building after a fossil fuel? Just hold a big ole seminar and "educate" 'em about it. That'll make it all okay!

Wow, this is getting real serious! If this seminar doesn't work, the administration may have to hold a "Staff Appreciation Day", maybe even give away a couple of student tickets to an exhibition basketball game.
Yep. That always satisfies the UK faculty/staff, doesn't it?
All education is good, I've found. But learning all about coal's role in Kentucky's history doesn't change the fact that an athletic lodge named after a fossil fuel makes us, again, the laughing stock of the nation. No amount of seminars or conferences is going to change that.
We've all been "educated" about the dangers of tobacco, but that doesn't mean we want buildings named Virginia Slims.
